After being sent food, now we get plants

And still the presents come. Like this beautiful plant from our chums at PML, again just to celebrate our recent birthday.

Thanks guys.

Oh, and if any of our friends at the local Porsche dealership want to send something along, give Ross a buzz.

Suddenly, everyone’s sending us food

The other day, it was the cookies we received in the post. Today it was the uber-uber-healthy option – a massive basket of fruit dropped in by Uncle Sam Sharp (above, left, looking like a follicly challenged Carmen Miranda).

Not that we’re complaining of course. Keep it coming.

(Note the way I carefully avoided any reference to ‘a bunch of fruits’ in the headline. That would have been too easy.)

And look what was inside!

Cookies! Loads of ’em.

California Cookies. Peanut Butter Cookies. Squidgie Cookies. Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. Cinnamon Cookies. M&M Cookies.

Just look at Jonny salivating while Ross reads the really nice note from Ted.

To all our friends, here’s a tip – visit Belfast Market on Fridays and seek out The Big American Cookie stand. On it you’ll see our friend and benefactor Ted, the original Big American. And you’ll see tons of beautiful cookies. But you need to go early. Because he sells out real quick.

Thanks Ted.

Look what the postman brought

Wow! This has been such a good morning for Food Critics Ross and Jonny.

Because they got a Special Delivery from The Big American Cookie Company.

It was a big box. And we suspected there were big cookies in it.

Notes to anyone attending interview

Given the nature of the blog below, you may want to have a quick look at the latest Tuesday Tip from the wonderful scamp.

Like your mother used to say, look smart and do your best.

Fancy a seat? Jobs now available.

After two very big chunks of business landing on our desks recently we’re looking for more bodies. Well not bodies as such. More like can-do creatives – very proactive, very bright. Design and advertising backgrounds, we need both. People who can think fast, work hard and are keen to share our way of thinking about a new way of working. All those positive things. If you think you could fit in, email or call Joanne on – 028 9023 8850 – and get the official application form. We will need applications by 5 October. So get cracking.

Our ambassador to Spain gets ready to depart

A big ‘adios amigo’ to Ross who is preparing to visit Spain to represent Ireland in the World Laser Championships.

Yes, I’ll say that again – Ross is preparing to visit Spain to represent Ireland in the World Laser Championships.

As Ross himself is quick to point out, it’s all very well travelling all around Europe supporting a certain team or sport – but it’s a whole different kettle of monkfish when you travel to other countries actually representing your country. That’s what is basically known as TALENT.

It’s another week or so before he departs but we thought we’d let you know now so that you can get to grips with the rules and language of sailing – it will help you speak knowledgeably about it in the pub as you impress your mates with the fact that you actually know an international sportsman who is out there competing against the best in the world.

Visit again soon when we’ll have some of the frequently used terms up for you to learn. In the meantime, here’s three to be going on with:
