Another new House mate

Welcome to Bettina Gigante who joins us today. Bettina is a native of Chicago, Illinois. So if you notice a really strange accent it won’t necessarily be Niall’s. She joins us as several new business wins ramp up the workload here in the House. So that explains the lack of regular updates here on your favourite blog.

Prince Charles visits us in Hill St

It’s not every day that a genuine blue-blooded royal nips into our favourite eaterie in Hill St. So in an effort to capture the moment we sent someone with a camera out to take a snap as he hopped out of his vehicle. This is what they came back with:

Apparently this is how it actually looked: (according to the Telegraph)

Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles at Nick's Warehouse, Belfast today

Hmm. Not actually sure which is the best shot.

It’s a Rock ‘n’ Roll life: Elm House visit The Hold Steady

The greatest bar band in the world were playing in Belfast last night and a huge chunk of Elm House went along to see them.

Lively New York combo The Hold Steady packed more energy into one night than our Ross can pack into a fortnight.

Biggest thrill of the night – apart from Mark being mistaken for Jude Law – was when lead singer Craig Finn name-checked our Jonny and Sinead from the stage. Now that is A ROCK ‘N’ ROLL moment. Luckily, our happy snapper was there to capture the ecstatic reaction of the pair.

By the way, Jonny’s actually exhibiting a little more red-eye this morning as he was later invited backstage to do other Rock ‘n’ Roll things with his chums in the band.

We now wonder when our next rock ‘n’ roll “name-check moment” might happen – possibly Michael when he attends Dolly Parton soon.

New Studio Manager unveiled

Meet Jonny McClean, our brand new Studio Manager. Jonny – easily the handsomest dude in the House – will be tying up all the strands involved in getting stuff out to print and organising the very unruly bunch of creatives around him. More to the point, though, we hired Jonny not because of his hugely impressive organisational  talents, but because of his equally impressive collection of music and band t-shirts. All of which means that Niall Nugent (see Huffing-Designer-with-back-turned in pic) has formally been dismissed as Director of Music. Sorry pal.
