The boy done good – again

For the third year in a row, young Ronan O’Fril has beaten off a host of adults to win at Fantasy Football. The ten-year old popped into our office the other day to pick up his Gold Daily Telegraph Fantasy Football Leagues Winner’s Medal, together with a certificate and handsome cheque for his efforts in the second Elm House Creative Fantasy League (he’d previously won the AVB league). Beaten Manager of Cove Ramblers, Mark Heaney, somehow managed a smile as he presented the young fella with his goodies. Can he make it four league titles in a row? Will you be able to halt his triumphal march? Watch out for details of next year’s Fantasy League.

Welcome to the Twilight Zone

The sun was sinking low as the weary golfers emerged onto the veranda at Bangor Golf Club for a final snapshot as a keepsake to remember the MRI Scanner Appeal Charity Day.

Then, all of a sudden, Ross spotted the Lady Captain. “Quick! he screamed. “Nab her!”

The poor woman didn’t stand a chance. “Sit there, love, and say Cheesy Wotsits.”

Gamefully, the brave woman duly obliged as Ross’s left hand firmly clamped her to the spot.

All things considered, the perfect end to a perfect day.

(Well, almost – we all wound up in the back room at Fealty’s for several scoops.)
